Background: Commissioners also will receive a request from the shelter that a portion of the city funding set aside for The Salvation Army be transferred to the Community Shelter. The Salvation Army plans to close its homeless shelter on May 1, leaving the Community Shelter as the sole emergency homeless shelter in the city.
