KU volleyball adds middle blocker

The Kansas University volleyball team added its second National Letter of Intent signee for the 2009 season on Tuesday with the addition of Caroline Jarmoc out of Calgary, Alberta.

Jarmoc joins Lawrence High commit Tayler Tolefree as the newest members of the Jayhawks.

“We are ecstatic about Caroline joining our program,” KU coach Ray Bechard said of the 6-foot-1 middle blocker. “She is a high-level athlete who has the ability to impact our program immediately in a number of ways. During her official visit here, she presented herself in a very positive way, and bonded quickly with her future teammates.”

“She is an athletic and versatile middle blocker who can influence a match with her attacking and blocking,” Bechard added. “She has the skill set necessary to develop into a six-rotation player.”

Jarmoc’s sister is a junior setter for UTEP, while her mother was a member of the Poland Women’s High Jump National Team.

Jarmoc is undecided on what she wants to study at KU.
