From the Lawrence Daily World for April 6, 1909: “W.R. Sullivan, manager of the Dayton company to which a local street car franchise has been granted, left today for Dayton, Ohio, where he will report to the other members of the company his success and give orders for the materials needed for the local street car line. … It was a great day for an election and the vote turnout was heavy. Lines stood at many polling places and friends of the candidates hauled many voters to the polls.”
