Bright colors trendy for spring

Teens offer style pointers for new season

Bright accessories such as scarves dress up a spring wardrobe. Models are Shannon Toalson, left, and Kendra Schwartz, seventh-graders at Southwest Junior High School.

Now that it’s spring again, a completely different wardrobe is needed. New styles you would’ve never thought possible before have made fashion history in this fresh season. It’s time to add varied colors and prints to everyone’s attire.

“Geometric prints,” says Sarah Whipple, a seventh-grader at Southwest Junior High School.

Colorful pants

Stripes can get you noticed now that it’s spring: dark to light, bland to vivid, or in colors like lime green, hot pink and bright turquoise. Whipple also noted that the brand name PINK from Victoria’s Secret is very in.

“Red and colorful pants. Colorful pants are hot,” says Southwest seventh-grader Shannon Toalson.

Recently, some people have added different colored pants to their outfits, like purple, blue or yellow. They stand out in the halls, with different styles each time, like skinny jeans, flair, straight leg, etc.

Another Southwest seventh-grader, Katie Dilley, says she thinks clogs are the new shoe style. She agrees with Ella Scheonen, a seventh-grader at Southwest, that high ponytails are eye-catching as well.

And, of course, with warm weather comes shorts. This season’s shorts preferably have cute designs on the pockets.

While it is true different people think differently, they can have similar styles. Though what is “fashionable” changes from month to month, one thing always stays the same: Fashion is fashion, no matter who is wearing it or who is deciding it. All of these teens agree with me on that topic.
