Emergency planning to be focus of event

To learn more about emergency preparedness, attend the annual Douglas County Emergency Preparedness Fair from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at South Junior High School, 2734 La.

The event is part of local National Preparedness Month activities, offered by the county’s emergency management department, Lawrence-Douglas County Health Department and the Roger Hill Volunteer Center.

The public can learn how to make plans and emergency supply kits, including learning local preparedness plans. For more information about the fair, contact the volunteer center, 865-5030, or e-mail info@rhvc.org. Emergency preparedness information is also available at ready.gov.
