Old Home Town - 100 years ago

September 24, 2008

From the Lawrence Daily World for Sept. 24, 1908: "The chairman of the state Democratic committee, Henderson Martin, says rural mail carriers are taking too full a load in Republican politics and must be stopped. Sanitary conditions in the general area are bad and the county is trying to assist."
