‘Cats to be tested vs. HAAC champs

? Just where Baker University fits into the overall Heart of America Athletic Conference football picture could be determined tonight.

The Wildcats will open at home against Lindenwood, the defending HAAC champs. Game time is 6 p.m. at Liston Stadium.

“This game will not make or break our season,” BU coach Mike Grossner said, “but it is a statement game for our program. We’ll find out a lot about our guys.”

The Wildcats (1-1) are coming off a 28-0 victory over Culver-Stockton after falling, 56-0, to Tennessee at Martin the previous week.

“We have now experienced the highs and lows of a football season,” Grossner said.

Lindenwood (1-1) is ranked No. 11 in this week’s NAIA poll. The Lions blasted Avila, 59-9, last week after bowing to MidAmerica Nazarene, 26-16, in their opener. MANU is ranked No. 7.

Baker will play at Benedictine next Saturday before returning home the following week to face Graceland.
