Baldwin City – Three days of rest was all Baldwin High’s football team needed to rout Spring Hill, 57-26, in its home opener Friday night.

Senior Sam Beecher rushed for three touchdowns and threw for another in the first half.

“Mentally, it was a very draining game Monday night,” Baldwin coach Mike Berg said. “We showed up tonight and played for each other.”

Baldwin (2-1) suffered its first loss Monday night to Gardner-Edgerton.

Eudora 49, Ottawa 7

Eudora – Three different running backs rushed for more than 100 yards for Eudora, as the Cardinals scored all seven of their touchdowns on the ground.

Eudora’s Evan Cleveland carried the ball 11 times for 114 yards and two scores, Ryan Mendel tallied 114 yards and a touchdown on 20 carries, and William Gadberry rushed eight times for 102 yards and a TD.

Louisburg 24, De Soto 21 (OT)

De Soto – For the second time in a week, the Wildcats lost on a last-second field goal.

Troy 61, McLouth 19

Troy – McLouth managed just 139 yards of total offense.

Mill Valley 28, Basehor-Linwood 14

Basehor – Nicholas Woods rushed for 208 yards on 29 carries and two TDs. He also added an 89-yard kick return.

Piper 28, Santa Fe Trail 19

Carbondale – Santa Fe Trail quarterback Thoenix Anshutz completed 10-of-16 pass attempts for 153 yards and three touchdowns.

Central Heights 35, Wellsville 8

Wellsville – The Eagles were unable to generate much offense against Central Heights (2-1), scoring eight points for the second time in three games this season.
