Stylists at Hair Experts Salon and Spa, Lawrence, are marking the 9-11 anniversary by agreeing to donate all money brought in from today's cuts, styles and other services to benefit troops stationed in Iraq, and their families.
All salon personnel are working from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 11, and will be donating their fees for services to provide financing for family readiness needs involving troops stationed out of Gardner and their families, said Brenda Peterson-Smith, owner of the salon and spa.

Hey everyone. It's time to BS the people by claiming that Iraq had ties to 9-11 and such. Not only that, but let's fan the flames and see how much we can invoke something stupid from people.

Looks like I'll have to find a new stylist. Any suggestions? Perm smell is bad enough, but this will make me wretch worse.

Wow guys way to make light of a national tragedy. I know it was 7 years ago and this is an election year, but you still don't hear people joking and ribbing around in a jocular manner about Pearl Harbor and that was 67 years ago. The services provided can be anything sort of transitional assistance for families left behind to equipment for deployed troops that the DOD is too cheap or stupid to buy.

It doesn't sound like they are trying to make light of the situation. Just donating money to a worthy cause. Hair Experts has a day of giving every year and donates all their proceeds to something different every year. Way to take something that was meant to be positive and turn it into a negative.

Why on earth would you need to find a new salon, SandyMorgan? Hair Experts is supporting our troops and their families. This has nothing to do with supporting or not supporting the war in Iraq.Isn't this the same salon that, sometime in the last few years, had a similar event to support a stylist from a different salon who was undergoing cancer treatments? To me, it just sounds like they care.Good job, Hair Experts!
