On Saturday, the Lawrence Farmers' Market will have its first Great Grill-Off between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. in the market's tasting tent in the public lot between Eighth and Ninth streets on New Hampshire Street. During the event, local chefs will compete for the title of "Grill Guru" by preparing a meat, vegetable and fruit from the market on the grill. Competing chefs include Ken Baker, executive chef and owner of Pachamama's, 800 N.H.; Subarna Bhattachan, executive chef and co-owner of ZenZero, 811 Mass., and Rick Martin, executive chef of Free State Brewery, 636 Mass. Recipes will be available at www.lawrencefarmersmarket.com by Tuesday.

Have they purchased enough carbon credits to offset this outright dangerous assault on our environment? Not to mention of all the carcinogens that they will be producing.

This looks more like blatant advertising for these downtown granola restaraunts. Why isn't the public invited to participate? Who are the real Grill Guru's??? A guy I work with is awesome on the grill and he wears "Harley Davidson" Boots when he does it.By the way I love to eat at each of these places, it would just seem more fairly balanced by allowing everyone to participate.
