In case you're wondering, Lawrence's MySpace presence does look different than many other communities'.
I did a similar MySpace search for both Olathe and Topeka. Neither search produced near as much music and counterculture listings.
For example, the top MySpace listing in Olathe was from a real estate agent looking to sell a $220,000 house. The No. 2 listing was a Kansas City Chiefs fan site, and the No. 9 site was from a self-described soccer mom with three kids.
Not much counterculture there.
In Topeka, the top listing was from the Kansas Dental Association.
Yeah, I don't know what that says about Topeka either.
