Lawrence police responded to an armed robbery call at 11:30 p.m. Saturday night in the 3400 block of Augusta Street. Sgt. Susan Hadl of the Lawrence Police Department said the victim, a 21-year-old Lawrence man, wasn’t hurt in the incident.

The victim encountered a man pilfering items from his townhouse garage, which had been left open that night. Hadl said that when the victim confronted the suspect, the suspect spun the victim around, made him lie face-down on the garage floor and threatened him with a gun.

The suspect, described by the resident as a black male between 18 and 24 years old, took the resident’s wallet before running east on Augusta Street.

Police are investigating the situation.
