County commission to tackle priorities

Douglas County commissioners will take up their to-do list next week.

Commissioners could talk through issues including transportation, planning or other items in an effort to decide whether something needs to be put on the front burner in coming months.

The meeting is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. Monday at the courthouse, 1100 Mass.

Commissioner Bob Johnson said the discussion probably wouldn’t generate any major changes, but he said it could help identify whether something needs to be sent to the planning or city commissions soon.

“Then we would need to get that moving forward,” Johnson said.

During a meeting Wednesday, Johnson and Commissioner Charles Jones approved changes to land regulations. Commissioners have significantly revised several regulations during the last year.

Commissioner Jere McElhaney was absent.
