Program welcomes coat donations

Scotch Fabric Care is looking for coat donations to keep others warm this winter. Scotch stores will be collecting coats until Nov. 26 as part of the 22nd annual Scotch Share the Warmth program. Since the program began, more than 172,080 coats have been collected and cleaned in Lawrence and Topeka.

Anyone who would like to make donations may drop them off at Scotch locations in either city. There is a higher need for children’s coats and larger sizes in men’s and women’s coats. Blankets, scarves and matched gloves will also be accepted and cleaned for distribution.

Groups interested in collecting coats for a program are asked to contact Scott Shmalberg, president of Scotch Industries in Lawrence, at 843-0639.

Coats will be given away in the beginning of December.
