Old Home Town – 100 years ago

From the Lawrence Daily World for Oct. 29, 1908: “More than 50 members of the law school of the university will sit down to a banquet at the Eldridge House tonight to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the founding of the department. They will pay special honor to

‘Uncle Jimmy’ Green who has been with the school from opening day. He has been a beloved dean. : Carl Sizer, keeper of the county farm, has filed his annual report. The farm is lacking in buildings and sanitary equipment but it appears that otherwise the inmates are getting careful attention and plenty of food. The average daily census of inmates for the year was 20.”
