Man pleads not guilty in child porn case

A 27-year-old man accused of possessing child pornography pleaded not guilty Thursday to three charges in Douglas County District Court.

Chief Douglas County District Court Judge Robert Fairchild also scheduled a Dec. 5 hearing on motions in the case.

The defendant’s attorney, Angela Keck, said she expected to file motions about how much access a defense expert witness can have to review a computer hard drive and disk drives.

The defense expert witness and Lawrence police investigators are expected to testify at the motion hearing, said Keck and Michael Allen, an assistant Douglas County district attorney.

Prosecutors accuse the man of possessing child pornography in May 2005. He faces three felony counts of sexual exploitation of a child, and he is free on a $30,000 surety bond. The Journal-World generally does not name those accused of a sex crime unless there is a conviction.
