Forum on sales taxes slated for Monday
The Lawrence Association of Neighborhoods on Monday will host a sales tax forum to discuss the three sales tax questions on the Nov. 4 ballot.
The forum will take place from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the South Park Recreation Center.
The forum will include speakers who are both proponents and opponents of the sales tax.
Invited speakers include a representative from the Save the T Campaign, a member of the Yes for Lawrence campaign, City Manager David Corliss, and a member of Americans for Prosperity.
Audience members can ask the panelists questions.
The forum will cover all three questions, which are:
¢ Question No. 1: A 0.30 percent sales tax for streets and infrastructure.
¢ Question No. 2: A 0.20 percent sales tax for basic transit operations.
¢ Question No. 3: a 0.05 percent sales tax for enhanced transit operations.
