Over the Rainbow Doll Club met Oct. 9 at the home of Janet Lukehart. The club welcomed two visitors. Lukehart gave a presentation on the French Bluette doll. She also displayed two dolls in their extensive wardrobes.

Members brought their dolls dressed for Halloween and participated in a costume contest. The costume of Barbara Walden’s doll was selected as the grand-prize winner. Next month’s meeting will be Nov. 13 at the home of Mikhaila and Mikhenna Brown in Olathe.

¢University Bridge Club announces results of its Oct. 11 meeting. Hosts were Tom and Cathy Waller.

Blue winners were George Bocquin, first; Donna Gatts, second; Dan Harden, third; Ray Ikenberry, fourth; and Florence McNicoll, fifth.

Pink winners were Ailene Bocquin, first; Bebe Huxtable, second; Carolyn Jordan, third; Willie Stoltenberg, fourth; and Alice Akin, fifth.

¢Kaw Valley Quilters’ Guild will meet at 7 p.m. Monday and at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in the meeting room at Plymouth Congregational Church, 925 Vt. Karen Stone will be the featured speaker. She will present “Trunk Show I” and “Trunk Show II.”

Stone will also conduct a workshop for two days. The workshop “Mississippi Wheel of Fortune” will be from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Wednesday. She will share multiple sewing techniques, while utilizing gentle curves, perfect foundation pieced points, and cool machine applique circles using rickrack. The Pilot Club of Lawrence Antique Show and Sale will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Douglas County 4-H Fairgrounds, Building 21, 2110 Harper St. Parking is free, and food will be available. Admission is $3. All proceeds will go towards local community projects.

¢The Wednesday Afternoon Duplicate Bridge Club’s game on Oct. 8 was directed by Chris Lane. The North-South winners were Lois Clark and Eldon Herd, first; Mark Osborn and Bobby Patton, second; Harry Shaffer and Ed Howard, third; Suzanne Wassmer and Wanda Durbin, fourth; and Bebe Huxtable and Wanna Roszel, first in C.
