Independence Inc. gets food assistance grant

Kansas Social and Rehabilitation Services has awarded the Lawrence Center for Independent Living, Independence Inc., 2001 Haskell Ave., with a $22,830 Food Assistance Outreach Grant.
The grant will go into effect this month and will help the center to increase awareness and educate the community about the program and help people make use of the Food Assistance Program.
Independence Inc. is a nonprofit organization that serves individuals of all ages who have physical, developmental, sensory, learning and mental health disabilities.
