From the Lawrence Daily World for Oct. 13, 1908: “Buffalo Bill Cody and his famous Wild West Show may winter in Lawrence at the Bismarck Grove north of town. William Tough and sons, the owners of the famous local grove have offered it free of charge to Col. Cody and feel confident that he will bring his famous show here.”
