KU women take fourth; men take seventh

? Kansas University junior Lauren Bonds’ ninth-place finish Saturday at the Cowboy Jamboree led the Kansas women’s cross country team to a fourth-place finish in the 27-team field.

Five Jayhawks ran season-best times as Kansas placed seventh in the 23-team men’s field.

Bonds finished the 6K course with a time of 21:32.

The Jayhawk women placed five athletes in the top 50, including sophomore Amanda Miller’s 24th-place finish with a time of 22:05. Freshman Lauren Nightengale was 39th with a time of 22:31, while junior Alison Knoll (22:34) placed 41st, and freshman Rebeka Stowe (22:42) finished 47th.

Junior Brett Imgrund and freshman Don Wasinger led the Kansas men. Both ran the 8K course with a time of 25:48, with Imgrund taking 42nd place and Wasinger capturing 43rd.
