Haskell to face Lincoln; Baker takes on Graceland

At Haskell Indian Nations University, Ryan Alden and Quentin Haynes have emerged as a potent 1-2 punch.

At Baker University, Mack Brown and Richie Bryant have been producing the big offensive numbers.

All four offensive standouts will be hoping to add to their impressive statistical totals during home games against winless foes today.

Haskell (2-3) will entertain Lincoln U. (0-4) at 1 p.m. at Haskell Stadium. Baker (2-2) will meet Graceland (0-4) at 2 p.m. at Liston Stadium in Baldwin City.

Alden, a freshman quarterback, threw for a career-best 458 yards and three touchdowns in last week’s 39-10 romp over Waldorf. Meanwhile, Haynes, a sophomore wingback-running back, caught 11 passes for 196 yards, including a 90-yard bomb from Alden.

Bryant, a senior running back, has posted three consecutive 100-yard rushing games, including last week’s 134-yard performance in a 35-24 victory over Benedictine.

Brown, a junior quarterback, has passed for 978 yards to move to No. 2 on Baker’s all-time career-passing-yardage list. He was named Heart of America Athletic Conference offensive player of the week after passing for 345 yards against Benedictine.

In Lincoln U., the Fightin’ Indians will be facing a team that has struggled to contain opposing offenses. The Blue Tigers are surrendering an average of nearly 40 points a game. Lincoln clipped the Indians, 39-20, last year in Jefferson City, Mo.

Graceland, coming off a 9-8 loss to Avila, has won its last four meetings with Baker.
