Scheduled pavement-repair work will be expected to cause traffic detours and delays today and Thursday in the area of 19th and Ohio streets.

Contractors are scheduled to start work today on a project to repair pavement at the intersection. The pavement problem allows water to pool in the area – particularly at a patch in a crosswalk – and the repairs will be expected to improve drainage.

As work continues, traffic heading east along 19th Street will be diverted into the center lane near Ohio Street. A member of the contractor crew will be posted at the intersection of 19th and Indiana streets, to help warn traffic to slow down.

A stretch of Ohio will be closed north of the intersection, as repairs continue.

Crews expect to complete the work sometime Thursday.
