Woolard Qualifies: Mickey Woolard of Lawrence ran the Gobbler Grind Marathon in 3:40:02, which qualified him for the Boston Marathon for the second time. Woolard also placed second in his age group.

Heppert Honored: Jenny Heppert, a senior at Central Florida U. and a Free State High graduate, was tapped for the Academic All-America volleyball second team. Heppert, a biology major, holds a cumulative 4.0 grade point average. Heppert ranks third on the Knights’ career charts in total blocks and block assists.

KU Baseball Camps: Kansas University baseball has several winter camps, starting with a skills camp Dec. 27-29 at Anschutz Pavilions. Other camps are scheduled in January, February and March. For information, call Kevin Frady at 864-7907.
