Founder’s ashes to go outside buildings

? When Larry Ricketts died last week, his family thought it would be fitting to scatter his ashes outside two newspapers that were so much a part of his life.

His widow, Marvella Ricketts, said Wednesday the ashes will be placed in the grass outside The Derby Reporter, which he founded in 1960, and the Columbus Daily Advocate.

Ricketts had been in failing health for several years and died last Tuesday at their home in Haysville. He was 78.
