Annual coat giveaway set for next week
Hundreds of winter coats, cleaned and in good condition, will be given away next week in the annual Scotch Share the Warmth program.
The giveaway, conducted by the Salvation Army for Scotch Cleaners, will be at the I-70 Business Center in North Lawrence. Anyone in need of a coat can get one for free in the space just north of the Kansas Department of Motor Vehicles. The center was once Tanger Mall.
The giveaway will be:
• 9 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 5.
• 9 a.m. to noon Dec. 6.
Groups needing special times to obtain coats or anyone who needs other special assistance can call the Salvation Army, 843-4188.
