Powerful team

Parents and teachers working together are a good recipe for success.

Congratulations to the faculty, staff, students and parents of Broken Arrow School.

It was announced Tuesday that the school is one of five in the state being nominated for the national No Child Left Behind Blue Ribbon Schools award. The nomination is a recognition of the school’s success in helping all of its students, including those who are disadvantaged, succeed in reading and mathematics.

Broken Arrow Principal Brian McCaffrey gave credit to teachers willing to try many different approaches to help students learn and to parents who follow up with teachers and work with their children at home.

Parents and teachers working together are a powerful team. Even if the students don’t know it now, they should be grateful for the effort these caring adults are putting into their education.
