Kansas University volleyball player Karina Garlington was selected as the Sports Imports/American Volleyball Coaches Association Div. I National Player of the Week on Tuesday.

Garlington is the second athlete from Kansas to be named Sports Imports/AVCA Division I National Player of the Week. The other Jayhawk to receive the honor was Josi Kimi on Sept. 19, 2005.

Garlington earned the award after leading the Jayhawks to conference sweeps last week over Colorado and Texas Tech.
