Big 12 basketball players predict the conference MVP

At the 2008 Big 12 Media Day in Oklahoma City, players from around the conference weighed in on which player they liked, other than themselves, to win the conference’s MVP award.

Most players went with safe picks by choosing their own teammates:

Matt Lawrence (of Missouri) picked Missouri’s Leo Lyons.

Leo Lyons (of Missouri) picked Missouri’s DeMarre Carroll.

Jacob Pullen (of Kansas State) picked Oklahoma’s Blake Griffin.

DeMarre Carroll (of Missouri) picked Oklahoma’s Blake Griffin.

Bryan Petersen (of Iowa State) hoped it would be one of his teammates, but ended up picking Oklahoma’s Blake Griffin.

Jermyl Jackson-Wilson (of Colorado) picked Colorado’s Cory Higgins.

Damion James (of Texas) picked Texas’ A.J. Abrams.
