More than 200 homes in Perry and Lecompton were without power for about two hours after an overnight storm, with lows of 32 degrees, hit the region and caused a malfunction in some power lines.

Bryan Keith Bell, 23, was convicted of second-degree murder in the August stabbing death of his former employer, 43-year-old restaurant operator Frank Seurer Sr. An eight-woman, four-man jury also found Bell guilty of aggravated robbery in the slaying at 2214 Yale Road. Seurer’s son, Frank Jr., was a star quarterback for the Kansas football team.
