Area Football Roundup: Baldwin’s season ends

? A second half rally by Baldwin High fell short Saturday night as the Bulldogs’ football season ended.

Holton defeated the Bulldogs, 24-14, to advance to the in the Class 4A state playoffs.

“You’ve got to feel for our whole team, especially our seniors,” Baldwin coach Mike Berg said. “They played lights out in the second half, but in the playoffs you can’t give a team a 24-point head start.”

BHS (8-3) only gained 40 yards in the first half.

Perry-Lecompton 31, Atchison 13

Atchison – Perry-Lecompton ripped Atchison on Saturday in a first-round Class 4A state playoff game.

Shane Gimzo gained 88 yards off 29 carries and scored two touchdowns.

The Kaws (8-3) will play Friday at Louisburg.
