A driver’s license check lane planned for this past weekend will be rescheduled, a Douglas County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman said Monday.

The agency canceled the early Sunday morning check lane east of Lawrence on North 1500 Road because of foggy conditions, Lt. Kari Wempe said.

“We felt it was not in the best interest of our officers or drivers, due to the unsafe conditions posed by the weather,” she said.

Sheriff’s deputies had planned to set up the check lane between 1 a.m. and 4 a.m. Sunday, on the extension of 15th Street that runs between Lawrence and Eudora.
