Army National Guard Pvt. Matthew M. Taylor has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.
During the nine weeks of training, the soldier studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values, physical fitness, and received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, military justice system, basic first aid, foot marches, and field training exercises.
He is 2006 graduate of Tonganoxie High School and the son of Cindy Taylor, Tonganoxie.
¢Floyd Wyrick graduated from U.S. Air Force basic training with ceremonies on May 15-18 at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. Airman Wyrick will remain at Lackland for a 13-week training course for the Air Force’s security forces.
Wyrick is a 1999 graduate of Eudora High School and the son of Pam and Floyd Wyrick Sr., Eudora.
