University Bridge Club’s 2008 annual Spring Party was on May 14 at the Alvamar Country Club with a dinner meeting. There were 11 tables playing contract bridge. Hosts were Dan Harden and Carolyn Harden.

Blue winners were John Golden, first; Tom Waller, second; George Bocquin, third; Alice Akin, fourth; Walt Hicks, fifth; Marc Kuepker, sixth; and Darlene Schneider, seventh. Pink winners were Dottie Miller, first; Carolyn Jordan and Carolyn Harden, second, Carol Smith, third; Mary Kanous, fourth; Jane Golden, fifth; Myrna Ikenberry, sixth; and Wanda Kring, seventh.

¢The Wednesday Afternoon Duplicate Bridge Club’s game on May 14 was directed by Chris Lane.

The North-South players were led by Chris Lane and Pat Lechtenberg, with Betty Collier and Klee Zaricky placing second. Grant Sutton and Catherine Blumenfeld were third and Lester Dalton and Nita Scales placed fourth.

The East-West players were led by David Piro and Paul Heitzman, with Madelyn Jenks and Virginia Seaver placing second. Shirley Reese and Lois Clark were third, and Jolene Andersen and Ann Thompson placed first in C.

¢The Thursday Morning Duplicate Mentor game on May 8 was directed by Chris Lane. Earle Core and Eldon Herd, Virginia Seaver and Jean Khatib, and Wanna Roszel and Pat Lechtenberg, all tied for first place.

¢The Thursday Morning Duplicate Mentor game on May 15 was directed by Chris Lane. Earle Core and Julia Brooks were first, with Ann Thompson and Arkie Vaughn placing second. Angie Davidson and Nita Scales were third, and Wanna Roszel and Jean Khatib placed fourth.

¢The Friday Afternoon Duplicate Bridge Club’s game on May 16 was directed by Virginia Seaver.

The North-South players were led by Clyde Romer and Kent McCullough, with Klee Zaricky and Virginia Seaver placing second. Chris Lane and Shirley Reese were third and Chuck Hedges and Carol Ball placed fourth.

The East-West players were led by Bobby Patton and Eleanor Patton, with Harry Talley and Don Daugherty placing second. Shari Krentzel and Judy Bevan were third.

¢The Monday Evening Duplicate Bridge Club’s game on May 19 was directed by Virginia Seaver.

The North-South players were led by Lynn Hui and Jeane Landry, with Kent McCullough and Larry Bodle placing second. Terry Tolar and Harry Shaffer were third and Clyde Romer and John Fittell placed fourth. Vince Nordberg and Clara Elkins were first in C.

The East-West players were led by John Hickey and James Kelley, with Eldon Herd and Emily Foster placing second. Barbara Merriam and Dorothy Netson were third, and Mary Fenlon and Jean Otney placed fourth.
