Registration open for Chautauqua camp

Registrations are being accepted for a free day camp for children, to be held in conjunction with the “Bright Dreams, Hard Times: America in the Thirties” Chautauqua in Lawrence. The camp, for children in fourth through eighth grades, will be from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. June 18 through 22 at the Lawrence Public Library, 707 Vt. Campers will select historical characters and do research on those characters, write scripts and design costumes for them and ultimately portray the characters the evening of June 22 in the tent in South Park. The camp is limited to the first 25 children to register. Information can be found at www.visitlawrence.com/chautauqua or by calling Susan Henderson at 856-5284 or Maria Butler at 843-3833.
