Five firms seeking permission to become temporary operators of the Lawrence Municipal Airport were facing interviews with the City Commission. The previous airport operator, Lawrence Aviation, shut down its operation here April 30. It had also operated commuter flights out of Lawrence, and there was uncertainty if a new commuter plan could be arranged.
