Old Home Town – 100 years ago

From the Lawrence Daily World for May 16, 1908: “The deputy assessor for the city and township of Eudora shows real estate to the value of $1,795,180 and personal property to the value of $531,805. This totals $2,326,985, the largest single township in the county for which returns have been made. : Many sports such as track and baseball are drawing a great deal of attention this spring and our local high school and university athletes seem to be making fine representations in the various meets. : Thirty-four cars from the Kansas City Automobile Club participated today in the endurance run from Kansas City to Lawrence to Ottawa and thence home via Olathe. Two of them participated in a short run to Lawrence and back to Kansas City. A pilot car marked the course with confetti and there were no accidents.”
