Commissioners at their Tuesday meeting unanimously agreed to move ahead on plans to install a traffic signal at Sixth Street and Congressional Drive.
The traffic signal would be at the main entrance of a new Wal-Mart at Sixth Street and Wakarusa Drive. Wal-Mart and other surrounding property owners are paying for the traffic signal and a related traffic calming island on Congressional Drive. Commissioners approved the project on a 4-0 vote. Commissioner Sue Hack was absent.
