— Mother's Day draws a crowd in the home of an Arkansas woman - she is pregnant with her 18th child.

Michelle Duggar, 41, said she is six weeks along in her pregnancy and that everything is going well.

This weekend, Duggar will join her husband and their 17 children to celebrate Mother's Day with brunch at a hotel in downtown Little Rock. Their youngest child, Jennifer, is 9 months old. Their oldest, Josh, is 20.

The Duggar children include 10 boys and seven girls. Within the group are two sets of twins.

"We've had three in January, three in December. Those two months are a busy time for us," Michelle Duggar said, laughing.

The fast-growing family lives in Tontitown in northwest Arkansas in a 7,000-square-foot home. All the children - whose names start with the letter J - are home-schooled.

Jim Bob Duggar, a former member of the Arkansas Legislature and an unsuccessful U.S. Senate candidate, has not been specific when asked how he supports such a big family. But he said he was guided by a seminar about 20 years ago - a system he still advocates - that blends finance and religion.

The family has become well known through news coverage of new births and with programs about them on Discovery Health, which is filming the family again.

Michelle Duggar, who has been pregnant for 11 years of her life, said she and her husband will continue to have children as long as God wills it.

"The success in a family is first off, a love for God, and secondly, treating each other like you want to be treated," Jim Bob Duggar said. "Our goal is for each one of our children to be best friends, and everybody working together to serve each other makes that happen."

The other Duggar children, in between Joshua and Jennifer, are Jana, 18; John-David, 18; Jill, 16; Jessa, 15; Jinger, 14; Joseph, 13; Josiah, 11; Joy-Anna, 10; Jeremiah, 9; Jedidiah, 9; Jason, 7; James, 6; Justin, 5; Jackson, 3; and Johannah, 2.

How quaint. They all work together to serve each other. It's obvious who she's serving. And he seems to be serving himself. Can he ever really provide for all of these kids? College educations, braces, basic dental and medical care.

Apparently they are party of some movement known as Quiverfull: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/QuiverfullHowever, this does not seem to give much info on their financial sustainability.I also thought I read somewhere when the last kid was coming that they were involved with real estate, but I could find nothing about it at least on this website: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jim_Bob_DuggarI just remember that his real estate connections had something to do with his ability to buy the enormous house they have, but again it escapes me.

Wow, I had 3 siblings and it was hard to get noticed by Mom. I cannot believe that there is a positive reason for having so many children.

Ragingbear hits one out of the park on the first pitch!Jumpin' 8 Jehosaphats 13, that is a lot of kids. I'm guessing that momma is so good at it that by now that it only takes a couple months to crank one of them puppies out.

I have trouble calling my four boys by their correct names, and none of them start with the same letter!

I wonder if this family has ever had a pet like a dog or cat before???? It seems like they should get a different hobby.

penguin,That was an interesting wikipedia link regarding the Quiverfull movement...Here was a quote within the article:According to journalist Kathryn Joyce," Population is a preoccupation for many Quiverfull believers, who trade statistics on the falling white birthrate in European countries like Germany and France. Every ethnic conflict becomes evidence for their worldview: Muslim riots in France, Latino immigration in California, Sharia law in Canada. The motivations aren't always racist, but the subtext of "race suicide" is often there."

I have seen some of the TV shows about this family and to say the least, it bothers me! One of the things they talked about was how when each child is born, one of the other older siblings is "assigned" to that child to take care of he/she. That is the parents job - not the childrens! I also would like to know why the father is evasive on how to financially deal with a family of 20. My family does not live extravagently, by ANY means, and sometimes having a family of 5 was a challenge! I'm sure millions of families would benefit from his sharing those secrets!!

They're getting close to a football team, and not even an ironman one. They should think about getting sponsorships.

It is sad that people like this must have all of these children to fill the void in their lives."A system that blends finance and religion". You mean like most churches, that fleece ignorant folks out of their money?"All the children - whose names start with the letter J - are home-schooled."Oh, boy. Can you say "cult"?

They are called "condoms" and they are for sale at most grocery stores, drug stores and truck stops (but the ones at the truck stops glow in the dark). If each of his kids has ten kids, and they all register to vote, he'll be successful in his next bid for the U.S. Senate.
