City Commissioner Nancy Shontz came out publicly in favor of steel fabricator Walt Hull in the contest for the City Commission seat that had been vacated by the resignation of 10-year commission veteran Barkley Clark. However, the odds seemed to favor broadcaster Howard Hill. Mrs. Shontz said Hill’s broadcasting duties at Kansas University might constitute a conflict of interest.
