Huggins hurt in fall

May 9, 2008

— West Virginia University officials say basketball coach Bob Huggins has been taken to a hospital in Charlotte, N.C., for precautionary reasons after tripping on an airport tarmac and hitting his head on the pavement.

Athletic director Ed Pastilong said Huggins had a bump on his head and never lost consciousness.

Pastilong said Huggins and other athletic department staff flew to Charlotte on Thursday morning for a Mountaineer Athletic Club event. After Huggins got off the plane, he was checking his cell phone messages when he tripped over a cone on the tarmac and hit his head.

It would be fun to know who in Manhattan placed that call!

Roy Williams tripped and hit his head in his office last fall. I think these guys shouldn't have to have every little thing they do end up in the national news. If they were hurt in a way that it affected their coaching ability, then that's different.

Good point blahblahblah. Maybe he was just checking a message from Frank Martin.

KU_Dude, everyone knows that a seasoned veteran like Higgins would never spill a drink. He would surely sacrifice his blackberry first.

I wonder if there is a clause in his contract about WUI (walking under the influence?)

It doesn't say whether he spilt his drink or not?
