From the Lawrence Daily World for May 8, 1908: "John Raber, a young man raised in Lawrence who left about five years ago to enter the U.S. Navy, is home visiting with his parents after traveling the world. : Fifty-six students are being subpoenaed to appear in court in connection with liquor activity in the area but some of them cannot be found and it appears some may have left town. Most are due to be witnesses after arrests of jointists."
