May 11 is the Lawrence Habitat for Humanity Women Build Work Day. Lowe's will donate $5,000 for the Women Build 2009 Lawrence Habitat house if 75 percent or more volunteers are women on that day.
The event is part of National Women Build Week, Sunday to May 11. To volunteer, call 832-0777 or e-mail grace@lawrencehabitat.org.
Lawrence Habitat is also host to a fundraiser honoring women. For a minimum donation of $10, a Women Build card will be sent to a designated recipient, representing the sender's wish to honor a woman on Mother's Day by giving to families in need of adequate housing.
