May 11 is the Lawrence Habitat for Humanity Women Build Work Day. Lowe’s will donate $5,000 for the Women Build 2009 Lawrence Habitat house if 75 percent or more volunteers are women on that day.

Lawrence Habitat is also host to a fundraiser honoring women. For a minimum donation of $10, a Women Build card will be sent to a designated recipient, representing the sender’s wish to honor a woman on Mother’s Day by giving to families in need of adequate housing.
