From the Lawrence Daily World for March 27, 1908: "Better get your smallpox treatments now rather than waiting until there are serious outbreaks. Word is the outbreak this year will be mild but that vaccinations are still important for everyone who can tolerate them. : People in the west part of town are abandoning city water, saying it isn't fit to use. A nasty green slime with a bad taste continues unabated."
