Louisville turns back K-State

? On its 12th try, Louisville finally made it out of the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

Angel McCoughtry scored 24 and the Cardinals (26-9) beat Kansas State, 80-63, Tuesday to advance to the regional semifinals.

Candyce Bingham added 12 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists for the Cardinals, who have won 13 of their last 15 games.

“We feel like nobody can beat us,” Bingham said. “We feel like we’re on the same page and we’re just clicking.”

Louisville will play North Carolina in New Orleans. Chauntise Wright and Patrika Barlos each added 13 points, and Barlow had six assists.

“We definitely feel good right now, being a part of history,” said McCoughtry, who hit 12 of her 26 shots and added seven rebounds. “This will go down in history, and we feel very good right now. But we’re not going to be content. We are going to try to go as far as we can. We’re thinking about Tampa, all the way.”

Notre Dame 79, Oklahoma 75, OT

West Lafayette, Ind. – Charel Allen scored a career-high 35 points and made all the big plays to rally Notre Dame from a late-seven point deficit as the fifth-seeded Irish beat fourth-seeded Oklahoma in overtime.

Maryland 76, Nebraska 64

College Park, Md. – Marissa Coleman and Kristi Toliver had 19 points apiece, Crystal Langhorne had 18 points and 12 rebounds, and Maryland held off Nebraska after blowing a 15-point lead.

Connecticut 89, Texas 55

Bridgeport, Conn. – Inside and out, Maya Moore was too much for Texas. Connecticut’s fabulous freshman scored 24 points.
