Prosoco leader joins trade group’s board

David W. Boyer, president of Prosoco Inc., Lawrence, was elected to the board of directors of the Sealant Waterproofing and Restoration Institute.

The institute, based in Kansas City, Mo., is an international trade association of contractors, manufacturers and design professionals from more than 260 member companies.

As a board member, Boyer works to help the institute represent the commercial sealant, waterproofing and restoration construction industry and promote industrywide standards for procedures and products.

Prosoco is a national manufacturer of products for cleaning, protecting and maintaining concrete, brick and stone architecture.

Boyer graduated from Kansas University in 1979 with a bachelor’s degree in architecture and urban design. He has helped in the restoration and preservation of historic properties ranging from the Douglas County Courthouse and Allen Fieldhouse to the U.S. Capitol, the Smithsonian Institute and the London Stock Exchange.

For the institute, Boyer has been a contributor to the organization’s Clear Water Repellent Manual, considered the construction industry’s most comprehensive and definitive survey of water repellents for masonry.
