University Bridge Club announces results of its March 15 meeting. Hosts were Dale and Wanda Kring. Blue winners were Rhetta Jo Noever, first; Tom Waller, second; Mary Jo Spotts, third; Karmie Galle, fourth; and Alice Akin, fifth. Pink winners were Bebe Huxtable, first; Cathy Waller, second; Lois Liebert, third; Willie Stoltenberg, fourth; and Janet Dunn, fifth.

Over the Rainbow Doll Club met March 13 at the home of Barbara Walden who gave an informative lesson on Rosie O’Neill’s Kewpie Dolls. Members showed examples of their Kewpie Dolls. The club reported members took a field trip March 8 to visit the Toy and Miniature Museum of Kansas City and special feature artist Tasha Tudor. The next meeting will be April 10 at the home of Suzanne McGinn.

Knights of Columbus Council 1372 collected $6,647.98 in a combination of cash donations and baby items for Pro-Life groups like Birthright, Mother to Mother and the Grace Center. The Knights have annual fundraisers like Parish breakfasts and chili feeds. Every January a baby crib is placed in St. John the Evangelist Church to collect baby items. This year was the most ever collected. Last year’s total was $2,660.00.

The Wednesday Afternoon Bridge Club’s game on March 5 was directed by Chris Lane. The North-South players were led by Clyde Romer and Kent McCullough, with Phyllis Brownlee and Yvonne Hedges placing second. John Reese and Shirley Reese were third. Florine Creek and Bebe Huxtable placed first in C.

The East-West players were led by Paul Heitzman and David Piro, with Catherine Blumenfeld and Grant Sutton placing second. Shari Krentzel and Mary Mertz were third. Virginia Seaver and Klee Zaricky placed fourth.

The Thursday Morning Mentor Bridge game on March 6 was directed by Chris Lane. The North-South players were led by Eldon Herd and Bobbie Figgins, with Barbara McCorkle and Chris Lane placing second.

The East-West players were led by Chuck Hedges and Jack Flickinger. Don Bush and Ann Thompson were second.

The Friday Afternoon Bridge Club’s game on March 7 was directed by Virginia Seaver. The North-South players were led by Virginia Seaver and Klee Zaricky, with Chris Lane and Yvonne Hedges placing second. Harry Shaffer and Lynn Hui were third. Jeane Landry and Jolene Andersen placed fourth. Eldon Herd and Lois Clark were second in B, with Linda Randall and Linda Swain placing first in C.

The East-West players were led by Shari Krentzel and Debbi Bettinger, with Ed Howard and John Fittell placing second. Mona Bell and Carol Ball were third. Catherine Blumenfeld and Mark Osborn placed fourth.

The Monday Evening Bridge Club’s game on March 10 was directed by Virginia Seaver. The North-South players were led by Grant Sutton and Harry Shaffer, with Lois Jones and Jeffrey Nash placing second. Donna Johnson and James Masilamani were third. Eldon Herd and Mary Fenlon placed fourth. Pat Burgstahler and Margrete Hartman were first in B. Chris Lane and Shirley Reese placed second in B.

The East-West players were led by Adelaide Nyquist and John Fittell, with Jim Stewart and Vince Nordberg placing second. Mark Osborn and Mona Bell were third. David Piro and Ed Howard placed fourth.

The East-West players were led by Paul Heitzman and David Piro, with Ed Howard and Adelaide Nyquist placing second. Grant Sutton and Catherine Blumenfeld were third. Eldon Herd and Chuck Hedges placed second in B, with Bebe Huxtable and Carol Smith second in C.
