Tomko makes bid for K.C. rotation

Brett Tomko helped his bid for a spot in Kansas City’s rotation, while Manny Parra probably hurt his own chances with Milwaukee.

Tomko held the Brewers to three runs, two earned, and five hits in four innings while striking out three and walking one in the Royals’ 11-3 victory Thursday night in Surprize, Ariz.

Tomko, who signed with Kansas City in January, is competing with four other candidates for the final two slots in the rotation.
