Lawrence High was to play Shawnee Mission South for the Kansas big school basketball championship. Starters for the Lion team, which eventually won the school’s first title since 1948, were Chris Piper, Eric Lienhard, Robb Zinn, Kevin Armitage and Paul Johnston.
