From the Lawrence Daily World for March 12, 1908: "Colorado is a state where women vote. It is certain that the Democratic party of the state will send Mrs. Homer J. Leavitt, daughter of William Jennings Bryan, to the national Democratic Convention meeting in Denver in July to support her father's bid for the presidential nomination and make every effort to bring voting rights for women into every state."
